As you may already have noticed during the recent months, Microsoft has been communicating about their 'End of Support' for Windows XP Operating Systems.
Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years. As a result, after April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates and fixes.
If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.

- Hatteland Display products will continue to ship with factory installed "Embedded Enterprise (WEE): Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional (Eng, SP3 or SP2c)" until 'End of the license' (December 31, 2016), and based on customers' demands through that period.

- Hatteland Display hereby advises customers to take the necessary steps to migrate their system over to newer or other versions of operating systems. Hatteland Display can already offer a multitude of different versions - including the latest Windows 8.
- As a default suggestion, Hatteland Display has already chosen Windows 7 as its "base/standard" Operating System as a replacement to the previously selected Windows XP OS, and this for our latest products.
As with all new computer technology, the OS often has to cope with latest developments and features. This was the case in point with Windows XP, which after 12 years in the field there are circumstances where the OS simply cannot keep up with that technology evolution.
Hatteland Display is committed to keep innovating its computer platforms to meet industry needs and expectations for performance and State-of-the-Art type approved products. With that, we are also committed to long life of our computer product offering and the longest possible support of peripheral elements such as operating systems. The step-up of our base level OS offering from XP to Win 7 is timed to ensure the full benefit of great features and performance speeds (CPU/Graphics/Memory) that we can offer in our products will be maximized for years to come.
