Integration of Smart Tunnel

Tunnels play an important role within the transport infrastructure network. They facilitate communication between large areas of the country and are thus essential to long distance transport.

Most tunnels have indeed been built according to specifications that have meanwhile been outdated. Either their equipment no longer corresponds to state-of-the-art modern demands, or traffic conditions have significantly changed since their initial opening.

In new and renovated road tunnels, structural and technical safety installations usually comply with national and international recommendations, requirements or standards.

Four Pilars in a Smart Tunnel

  • operational expenses

Costs play a key role in improving road and rail tunnel safety. Improvement costs include three components: refurbishment and equipment, operational costs, and costs of traffic delay caused by the refurbishment.

  • Safety
Since the incident in the Mont Blanc, the security requirement in tunnels has increased.

  • Efficiency

The smart connection ensure that the risk related to an accident is assess and contain in a timely manner at the lowest cost

  • Security
Ensure the security of both the workers and the users is a task that requires having an eye on every part of the tunnel at all time.

LPR-teknologi lar parkeringsvakter sjekke nummerskilt uten å forlate bilen
