E16, Bagnskleiv tunnel
Cooperation for a safe and predictable traffic flow!
Business needs
The E16 is an important route between east and west in Norway, especially as part of the
route usually is open when many other mountain passes are closed. When Veivesenet (The
Norwegian Public Roads Administration) planned for the new 4.3 km long Bagnskleiv tunnel
along the route, a safer and more predictable traffic flow was one of the main priorities. The
surveillance solutions projected required stability in demanding environments and should
easily be connected to several monitoring systems. Guard Automation was contracted, and
they reached out to Hatteland Technology to get the expertise on AID (Automatic Incident
Detection) solutions and a complete technical setup.
Solution
Hatteland Technology, together with Hanwha and Sprinx delivered an automated incident
detection and notification system, where all parameters in the choice of AID were carefully
considered and evaluated. All equipment was assembled and tested at our premises in Oslo
before it was sent and installed by Guard Automation in the tunnel.
The delivery from Hatteland Technology included more than 80 pcs. Hanwha XNB-6000
cameras in 316L acid-proof camera body. These cameras are connected to the Sprinx
server with AID software and communication.
