Hatteland Display, the world leading supplier of marine displays, computers and panel computers has appointed David Hawthorne as General Manager of its American operations. The appointment comes as Hatteland Display’s global growth continues in the wake of the introduction of new Naval displays, upgraded Series 1 displays and the 2006 launch of the sophisticated Series 2 product family.

David, who is based in San Diego, California, joined Hatteland Display on 23rd October 2007,  from his position as Business Development Manager at L-3 Communications RCCS Division. Previous to this, he spent time as a Sales Manager for Barco and has a total of 15 years experience as an Electrical Engineer at major U.S. defense contractors including Loral and Lockheed Martin. These previous roles have given him vast experience in the military market that will be put to  good use as the General Manager for Hatteland Display in the USA.

“The demand for Mil tested marine displays, computers and panel computers is currently very strong, with real opportunities to leverage our already competitive position we have in this sector,” said David. “With such a strong customer base already in place, we are confident that with the right focus on products and the expertise that Hatteland Display brings to the market, we can continue to grow our Naval business.”

Hatteland Displays military products are qualified to MIL-S-901D, MIL-STD-461E and MIL-STD-167 standards. The company can support high-volume production, has a worldwide logistics support network, and can offer custom products and solutions.

Two new Naval Displays (NMD) were introduced to the market in June 2007. Hatteland Display offers 19” and 20” versions of the NMD, which can both fit into a standard 19” rack mount unit. Installation flexibility is taken further by the inclusion of a standard bezel, which can be easily adapted to suit customer needs and bonding technology ensures improved strength and picture clarity.

“Systems integrators and shipbuilders already understand that Hatteland NMDs are ideal for Naval use. The continuing technology development and a focus on being the price leader for military displays are just two of the reasons why I am excited about joining Hatteland Display at this time,” concludes David.
