Hatteland Display confirmed at the Electronica exhibition in Munich in November that the first of our products to feature a new LED backlighting solution from Sharp will be the 23" Series 1. This decision follows co-operation with Sharp in order to bring this technology to marine displays.
LED backlighting is an innovative solution that offers a number of benefits over traditional backlighting including improved color and dimming capabilities. Our adoption of this new technology reflects the fact that we strive to ensure our products make use of the latest technology in order to provide better quality, functionality and operation.
"Like optical bonding, LED backlighting is a new technology to the marine sector that provides several operational benefits. Additionally, we have decided to introduce this new technology first to the 23" Series 1, which shows our commitment to this display size, following some uncertainty in the market about its future availability," says Knut Vidar Lauritsen, President, Hatteland Display.
The new LED backlighting is currently in extensive testing prior to its market introduction in the 23" Series 1. We'll bring you more details on this innovative new solution closer to its product introduction.
