Expansion of popular Maritime Multi Computer range

The new 15" and 19" Series 1 Maritime Multi Computers (MMC) offer the same flexibility and functionality as previous models, whilst at the same time providing system integrator, shipyard and end-user customers with a wider choice for installation.

"The often limited space onboard ships and yachts make panel computers (MMC) ideal for marine use as they combine both display and computer in one product. This makes them ideal for various applications, and they are already being used for everything from navigation through to automation. The latest models add more power and flexibility to the line-up. They have low cost of ownership and are designed to meet the specific requirements of the navigation and automation markets. The market reception during Nor-Shipping was very positive," comments Lars Skjelbred-Eriksen, VP Sales & Marketing, Hatteland Display.

Series 1 MMCs are based on Series 1 displays and provide the same benefits that have made them the de facto marine industry standard, such as unmatched viewing clarity and long life, but with the additional flexibility of a computer. They follow the same form and fit as Series 1 displays, making them an ideal match for common system design requirements or as replacement computers.

The computer itself is specified to ensure that it is capable of running all marine applications, from ECDIS software through to engine monitoring and automation applications. The new 15" and 19" MMCs feature a choice of Intel® Core™2 Duo L7400 - 1.5GHz, 4MB Cache, 667MHz FSB or Intel® Celeron® M ULV 423 - 1.06GHz, 1MB Cache, 533MHz FSB processors. "These factory options offer two choices to our customers, meeting the need for both fanless design and stronger performance", continues Lars Skjelbred-Eriksen. Both models also feature a sophisticated solid state 30GB hard drive and 2 GB of ram, with a customer specified operating system.
