Hatteland Display, the world leading manufacturer of marine displays and panel computers will unveil a redesigned range of displays for the commercial marine market during Nor-Shipping 2007 in Oslo, Norway.

In addition to being present on several distributor, agent and system integrator stands at Nor-Shipping 2007, Hatteland Display is also opening a special Nor-Shipping showroom in Oslo old town, which will feature the new Series 1 displays and yet to be announced Hatteland Display products.

The new displays are an evolution of the marine industry standard Series 1 family and are an exact replacement for existing Series 1 displays, but with even greater flexibility and functionality and at a lower price point.

The new Series 1 Maritime Multi Display (MMD) models now use fewer modules and cable connections, increasing reliability and reducing component costs. A major addition to the range is the fact that Series 1 MMDs now come with both AC and DC power built in, ensuring that they are compatible with all power systems on all vessels. The system will automatically switch to whatever power is connected, making it highly flexible for shipbuilders and system integrators alike.

A new 160 pin I/O connector allows the connection of many common signal types using just one cable connection. All known signal types of Hatteland's MMD models can now be accessed through this single connector, such as Composite Video Input, S-VHS Video Input and Serial Communcation. Hatteland can now offer more signal input/outputs upon request for customized solutions.

Hatteland Display has also integrated an Embedded Video Controller X-tended, enabling users to utilise more signals than before. Other connections include RGB out, RGB in, IEC outlet, 2 x COM ports and USB.

New Series 1 MMDs are identical in form factor to previous versions ensuring OEM customers can integrate them into their own systems without any design changes. A new, removable, ‘all in one’ user control with brightness control, OSD access & buzzer has been implemented alongside several
cosmetic changes designed to enhance the overall look and feel of Series 1 MMDs.

“We have implemented the redesign to increase quality and make our Maritime Line Series 1 products more cost effective,” said Frode Grindheim, Technical Director Hatteland Display. “The Series 1 is widely accepted as the industry standard in rugged maritime displays and these changes mean
even better reliability, functionality and value for our commercial marine industry customers.”
