The United States Coast Guard has chosen the JH 19T14 MMD (Maritime Multi Display) for use as an ECDIS display on its buoy tender fleet. The contract, secured through CHI systems amounts to 290 displays.
On October 5th, 2008, Hatteland Display received an order for 290 ECDIS displays for installation on the US Coast Guard buoy tending fleet of 225' WLB and the 175' WLM vessels. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Command and Control Center located in Portsmouth, VA selected the JH 19T14 MMD (Maritime Multi Display), and procured them through a contract awarded to CHI Systems of Ft. Washington, PA.

The current Coast Guard buoy tender platform uses five video display stations, one in a console positioned on the forward center of the bridge, two mounted to the overhead on the port and starboard bridge wings, one mounted in a console in the chartroom and one backup system mounted on the bulkhead in the chartroom.
The JH 19T14 MMD is a redesigned Series 1 display. The recent redesign of Series 1 introduced a number of benefits, not least of which is improved quality and functionality at a lower price point due to new manufacturing processes employed by Hatteland Display.
