Update of CAN gateway firmware (FW) and drivers / library for the Hatteland Display CAN module

Hatteland Display hereby informs about changes for the following model(s):
HD 08T21 xxC-xxx-xxx1
HD 13T21 xxC-xxx-xxx1
HD 15T21 xxC-xxx-xxx1

Notice: Customized models are ALSO affected by this Engineering Change Notification.

For Customized models (Microsoft® Windows®) versions: CAN gateway FW is not updated before customer approvals.

Effective from:

1 December 2013.

Additional information:

New functionality CAN gateway FW:
- Added support for Linux.
- Improved error handling.
- Improved handling of high bus load.

New functionality CAN drivers/library:
- Linux drivers: openSUSE® 11.4, Fedora™ 15, Ubuntu® 10.04 LTS, Ubuntu® 12.04 LTS.
- Added functionality for application controlled reset of CAN hardware.
- Corrected initialization sequence, to support any baud rate at start-up, in current version is default
baud rate 125k.
- Improved error handling.
- Improved semaphore handling.
- Added protection against abnormal API access.

Compatibility:
- New drivers/library is not compatible with current CAN gateway FW.
- Current driver/library is not compatible with new CAN gateway FW.

Upgrade instructions:
- Update is mandatory for Linux users.
- Update of CAN gateway FW requires external programming tool, contact Hatteland Display Helpdesk
for guidance.
