New brightness potentiometer for Series 1

Hatteland Display hereby informs about the following running change:

All Series 1 Maritime Multi Display (MMD) and Maritime Multi Computer (MMC) models, including OEM variants, will be upgraded with a new brightness potentiometer.

Effective from:

We will initiate the Engineering Change process in the factory from November 1st 2012. We estimate that the upgraded models with new potentiometer will be introduced and shipped gradually during a 2 month period for the affected models.

Additional information:

The existing version of the potentiometer has a plastic shaft, whilst the new one has metal shaft. We have seen several returns (warranty and non warranty) with broken brightness adjustment knob and defect potentiometer. As a consequence of our continuous product improvement program, we have introduced this running change. The implementation has been tested, and all products maintain all their current certifications and approvals.
